Financials & Annual Reports

Where every dollar actually goes.

Transparency is not an extra. It is how trust is earned. Annual reports, IRS filings, and a clear picture of how partner giving funds the long arc of recovery.

Our Commitment

Stewardship is the work.

The Renewal Initiative operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Every gift is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.

We are committed to integrity, transparency, and timely communication — keeping overhead lean, directing the maximum possible share of giving into program work, and publishing our financials in plain language so partners can see exactly what their giving supports.

If a question is not answered on this page, we welcome the conversation directly.

01

We maximize every gift.

We aim to stretch every dollar for the greatest possible impact. That means low overhead, trusted local partnerships, and strategic investment in people.

02

We build relationships, not pipelines.

Our work is grounded in personal relationships. We prioritize long-term change, not just quick fixes.

03

We report back.

We provide annual reports, financial documentation, and clear updates on how your gifts are being used.

Where Giving Goes

Program-first allocation, verified annually.

Our funding model is built around the long arc: the majority of every dollar lands in direct program work on the ground.

75–85%

Program Services

Frontline leader formation, care networks, Dnipro Lego Club, retreats, kids programs, refugee aid, and local partnerships.

10–15%

Operational Support

Local staff, infrastructure, logistics, and the tech platforms that keep the work running.

8–10%

Administration & Fundraising

Communication, donor care, and financial management — including accounting, compliance, and reporting.

100%

Designated Gifts

Designated giving (e.g. Lego Club, Frontline Leader Intensives) is restricted and applied in full to that program area.

Specific percentages vary year over year based on program scope and capacity. Figures above reflect typical breakdowns.

Gifts With Flexibility

Unrestricted giving, used where it's needed most.

Unless otherwise designated, all contributions are considered unrestricted and applied where the need is greatest. If funds exceed a specific project's needs — or if a project cannot proceed — we redirect support to the closest effort that continues serving the same people.

Governance

Our Board of Directors.

TRI is governed by a board that meets regularly and holds the work accountable to its mission, donors, and the people we serve.
